Alexander Steele Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading food manufacturer with a hybrid role based in Leicester, supplying to major retailers. Due to a period of exciting growth, they are looking to appoint an Food Technologist to work closely with the Technical Account Manager and wider function to manage retailer relationships and technical requirements.

• Salary is circa £34,000 + 5% bonus

The role:

Reporting to the Technical Account Manager, the Food Technologist will support the business in managing relationships with key retailers to ensure smooth service delivery.

The successful candidate is tasked with the responsibility of managing customer queries and complaints, processing customer product specifications and maintaining product information databases.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

• Process, complete and review product specifications for key accounts
• Liaise with relevant manufacturing sites on customer requests
• Record and address customer complaints as required
• Prepare samples for testing and send to relevant laboratories
• Ensure internal databases are kept up to date with the latest information
• Assist with internal audit and support the Technical Account Manager with audit reports
• Accounts administration such as checking invoices, raising credits and communicating with accounts department

Candidate requirements:

The business is looking for an individual who has at least 2 years experience in a similar role within food manufacturing. You must be a strong communicator, forward thinking and a problem solver.

• Experience working in a similar role within food manufacturing
• Experience working with major retailers
• Food or Science degree
