An exciting new opportunity for a Category Manager join a well-known public sector organisation based in Maidstone, with a salary up to £60,000! The Category Manager will be joining the Commercial and Procurement Team to lead the organisation's Professional Services category. Candidates will have previous experience in procurement and purchasing at Senior Buyer, Purchasing Manager, Procurement Manager or Category Manager level and be keen to develop themselves in their career!

Responsibilities of the Category Manager -Professional Services

  • Undertake category management practices within the Professional Services category
  • Enable the team to profile, benchmark, research and assess the market, risks, competition, trends and new opportunities to ensure continuity of supply and that best value is achieved
  • Design and deliver local commercial strategies and support the implementation of national strategies to maximise collaboration opportunities across the Blue Light sector
  • Line manage a Category Officer and manage and prioritise activities within the category
  • Lead on contract drafting and management
  • Use and maintenance of procurement aspects of the Agresso system

The ideal Category Manager - Professional Services will have:

  • Experience of public sector procurement and PCR 2015
  • Experience of the end-to-end procurement life cycle
  • Knowledge of the government's Find a Tender Service (FTS)
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to persuade and influence

Salary:

Up to £60,000 + pension.

This role will be ideal for you if you have previous experience within procurement or purchasing as a Senior Buyer, Category Manager, Commodity Manager, Procurement Manager, Purchasing Manager or similar.
