Based in our Telford Head office, this is an excellent opportunity for an analytical, hardworking, self-driven individual.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and develop the online product ranges to deliver profitable business growth
• Understand the customer journey: customer insight, through to communicating product benefits and reasons to believe the product will work based on crucial reason/s for purchase
• Deliver innovation through new lines and product development
• Source and meet suitable suppliers/manufacturers, including attending UK and international trade shows to drive innovation
• Manage and build new and existing supplier relationships
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, contracts as well as other aspects of supplier accounts
• Ongoing margin management
• Delegate product implementation tasks to the broader team, using their skills to optimise the merchandising and ensure that a market-leading range is delivered.
• Reporting and data analysis – which will feed into the monthly board packs
• Liaising with all teams within the group: Buying, Digital Merchandising, Stock Control, Marketing, Warehouse, Finance, Customer Service, I.T, CEO
• Support the business to deliver ad-hoc projects when required

JOB-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous Category Management/Buying and Merchandising/Product Development experience is essential
• Experience in managing a team and reporting into Senior Management
• Have the ability to understand the needs of our customers
• A high degree of numeracy and literacy
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to analyse data and make commercial decisions based on information available
• Have a commercial eye to identify gaps in the range and identify new market opportunities
• Confident, resilient and professional
• A great team player with a ‘can-do attitude
• A passion for succeeding and deliver outstanding results
• Goes above and beyond just getting the day-to-day tasks done
