Jewson Market Harborough, a leading building materials distributor, is on the hunt for a Yard Assistant who's as passionate about great service as we are.

This is a varied role focussing on customer service in our busy yard and at our trade counter, so great if you enjoy a bit of outdoor working and interaction with customers. No two days will be the same!

Hours: 7.30am-5.00pm Monday to Friday and every other Saturday morning 8am-12pm

Location: Rockingham Road, Riverside, Market Harborough LE16 7PT

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects

• Get to know our product lines so you can offer advice and help to customers, making the most of all customer interactions in line with our Jewson Values

• Assist customers at the Trade Counter, process payments, order stock, update customer accounts and provide the best service possible to our loyal customers

• Help to prepare customer orders, load and unload customer and supplier vehicles using a Forklift Truck to minimise manual handling (training will be provided)

• Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products

• Maintain stock levels in both the shop and yard areas, carrying out regular stock counts

• Keep the branch looking clean and tidy, to make a great first impression on our customers

• Make Health & Safety a priority and demonstrate how you can keep yourself and others safe at work

Required Skills and Experience

• Previous industry experience preferred but not essential

• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work accordingly

• Strong communication skills

• Confident working both indoors and outdoors and a health and safety focus

• Comfortable in a role involving extensive manual handling of bulky items

• A driving license would be a benefit for this role, as there may be some relief delivery driving
