Buyer – Drinks

I am currently recruiting for an experienced Buyer to join an established and well-loved national high street retailer. This is a great opportunity for a strong trading focused Buyer to join fast moving impulse category, with responsibility of drinks which is a high profile and key category for the business.

You will be responsible for supporting the Buying Manager to deliver commercially focused product ranges that meet both Departmental and Company targets for the Drinks Category while maintaining a strategic business focus to ensure continued growth within the department. As the Buyer some of your duties will include.

• Manage your category area (Drinks)
• Sourcing suppliers & negotiating best cost prices.
• Building & maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
• Ensuring selected product lines achieve season defined timeframes.
• Analysing sales figures to plan successful future lines.
• Plan & deliver specific promotions & events within your department
• Working cross functionally to develop and deliver trials and new food propositions
• Monitor continual competitor and price analysis to stay ahead on trends
• Presenting reports, figures, and trend information to the Management team

Key requirements for the role.

• Proven previous Buying experience within a fast-moving FMCG environment.
• Ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
• Able to adapt swiftly in a fast-paced market.
• Strong team player
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels.
• Excellent understanding of all MS Office products.
