Senior Technical Administrator

(Food Manufacturing)

Permanent Opportunity.

Wednesbury.

Salary: £28K

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 08.30am till 5.00pm with 1 hour lunch.

We are working in partnership with one of Europe’s largest independent manufacturers & distributor. Their headquarters are in West Midlands in the heart of the Black Country area servicing major national retailers, large food service groups and blue-chip corporations.

The Role

  • Complaints management: including logging all customer complaints (including retail, foodservice and industrial customers). Compiling customer complaint responses (where necessary) by carrying out root cause investigation with suppliers.
  • Support on both supplier audits & creating customer product specifications and delivery of key activity during customer and BRCGS audits.
  • Manage the Technical team's inbox, responding to or redirecting technical enquiries – responding to customer enquiries.
  • Specification Management: including administration of the generation and maintenance of customer product specifications for existing products and new product launches (including using customer online specification platforms).
  • Support and deputise for the Senior Technical Officers to meet business needs.
  • Provide administrative and technical support to the technical team.
  • Create and update technical documentation, Packaging spreadsheet, document control log.
  • To generate and review specifications of finished products for the company.
  • To actively work to ensure compliance with BRCGS and customer standards.
  • To ensure that every customer received correct certificate of analysis.
  • Ensuring that all specifications and artwork is accurate and complies with all relevant legislation, as per the critical path.
  • Generating nutritional and ingredient information.
  • Completing technical compliance activities and reports.

Candidate Specification.

Technical background/experience in a food safety role - essential

Minimum 3 years’ experience within food manufacturing industry as technical admin/QA/QC or similar role (essential)

HACCP L3 (beneficial but not essential)

Food Safety L3 (beneficial but not essential)

Knowledge of UK Label legislation

High level of experience launching products into a variety of market sectors including retailers, brands, and global export markets.

Experience

  • Supplier GFSI certification: 2 years (required)
  • Food safety root cause investigation: 2 years (required)
  • Technical specification exp in food safety: 2 years (required)
