Material Planner

Agratas are looking for a Material Planner to join us within the UK Supply Chain and Logistics team based in Coventry, UK to support the development of our recently announced state of the art, multibillion pound battery Gigafactory in Somerset. The role will support the delivery of one of the largest ever investments in the UK automotive sector

You will play a pivotal role in inbound material control for the purposes of continuously ensuring satisfied demands, productive inventory, and mitigating material related risks. This role requires you to have a strategic mindset, strong operational expertise, and effective change management skills to support drive the success of supply chain operations.

Responsibilities:

· Demand Management:

o Build and measure demand planning thresholds to every material.

o Manage dynamic material scheduling with suppliers.

o Oversee and coordinate material inbound activities with internal teams.

o Take adequate measures on demand volatility and supply chain disruptions in order to minimise supply risk.

· Cross-Functional Collaboration:

o Collaborate with procurement, production, sales, and other relevant departments to align supply chain activities with overall business objectives.

o Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure smooth coordination and execution of supply chain activities.

· Inventory Management:

o Determine optimal stock levels by balancing carrying cost and availability.

o Monitor stock movements and carry out regular stock take.

o Collaborate with internal teams on effective material utilisation and change management.

· Supplier Management:

o Liaise with suppliers to ensure that demands are met and provide visibility on risks.

o Monitor supplier service performance, address any concerns and drive improvement.

o Facilitate connection with internal teams on supply related matters.

·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments and with external partners.

·Analytical mindset with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.

·Problem-solving orientation and a proactive approach to addressing supply chain challenges.

·Project management skills to lead process improvement initiatives and drive operational excellence.

Qualifications & Experience:

·Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management/Business Administration/ Engineering or equivalent experience.

·Proven experience in supply chain and material planning operations, preferably within a Manufacturing/Engineering function.

·Proficiency in using supply chain management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
