My public sector client is looking for a Procurement Officer to join them on a permanent basis. Reporting into the Head of Procurement, your role will be to manage low level procurement exercises as well as support on high value procurement as well as contract management. As a key member of the team you will also be required to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders as well as suppliers.

Day to day your role will include:

• Work with category managers for the delivery of nominated procurements over £150k and take ownership as necessary during their absence.
• Responsible for the successful delivery of allocated lower value procurements in accordance with the respective category strategy and policies that support the objectives, with an emphasis on value for money.
• Provide prompt procurement and systems advice to buyers to enable compliance with Procurement Procedures and best practice.
• Set up new suppliers, amend existing supplier masterfiles as required and ensure procurement systems and databases are kept up to date.
• Support supplier negotiations and help to ensure value for money deals are obtained in a professional manner that ensures suppliers commit to the delivery high service levels.
• Ensure procurement toolkits and Corporate Procurement content on Intranet/Internet sites are up to date, accurate and relevant for the respective groups of users. 7. Ensure that all nominated procurements are carried out in an ethical, sustainable and compliant manner and are delivered within agreed timeframes.

This is a permanent role and will require 2 days a week in the office. Salary range is £32,000 to £36,500.
