Join Castle Water as a Bid Writer

Are you ready to take on an exciting challenge in the utilities sector? Castle Water, the largest independent water retailer in the market, is seeking a talented Bid Writer to join our dynamic Sales team. Our team is split over two locations, giving you the option to join our headquarters nestled in the picturesque region of Blairgowrie in Scotland, or base yourself at our bustling offices in London. Wherever you choose, you'll be part of a thriving and welcoming team, while enjoying the flexibility of a hybrid working model.

Castle Water is revolutionising the utilities sector, boasting a market share of approximately 20% in a market worth £3 billion per annum. Our commitment to innovation, customer service excellence, and community engagement sets us apart. With accolades including our recent Customer Service Excellence Award from the Perthshire Chamber of Commerce, and over 20,000 5-star Trust Pilot reviews, we're proud of our track record and eager to welcome new talent to our team.

As a Bid Writer at Castle Water, you'll play a pivotal role in securing new business and retention opportunities. Working closely with our Sales team, you'll lead the bid process from inception to submission, crafting compelling proposals that showcase Castle Water's unique value proposition. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating and managing the tender process
  • Formulating high-quality written responses to formal tender enquiries
  • Developing persuasive proposals for both Public and Private Sector bids
  • Collaborating with the wider team to develop case studies and standard content
  • Ensuring all bid documents are error-free and compliant with requirements

What We're Looking For

We are actively searching for candidates who possess a wealth of experience in crafting compelling proposals for both Public and Private Sector bids, demonstrating a deep understanding of the nuances and requirements of each domain. In addition to this, we value individuals with outstanding persuasive writing abilities, capable of articulating our company's strengths and value proposition with clarity and impact. Exceptional written and oral communication skills are essential, ensuring effective collaboration and presentation of ideas. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite is a must, as is the ability to organize tasks efficiently and work autonomously, exhibiting a high level of self-motivation and initiative. Experience in the utilities sector is advantageous but not essential. Candidates should have exposure to public sector bid writing, as well as experience working business to business.

At Castle Water, we offer more than just a job. You'll be part of a supportive team that values continuous learning, mutual respect, and personal development. With opportunities for advancement and a commitment to nurturing talent, we'll help you grow both personally and professionally.
