Indirect / Packaging Buyer
North London
Up to £70,000 DOE
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Procurement / Indirect / Packaging Buyer to join an expanding artisan bakery brand based within their London Head office.
As the Indirect / Packaging / Procurement Buyer, you will report into the Head of Procurement & Supply Chain and be responsible for providing operational support throughout the indirect procurement processes including equipment, services and packaging.
Additional responsibilities will include:
- Support the end-to-end tender process for full procurement process including market research, competitive pricing, supplier selection and negotiation, contract implementation and supplier performance reviews.
- Responsible for managing the packaging category and support NPD and marketing plans.
- Implement Supplier Relationship & Contract Management practices.
- Ensuring the Contract management database is continually updated, end dates are communicated to specific line managers.
- Monitoring contract terms.
- Continually review contracts, and benchmark, tender, re-negotiate and execute contracts/agreements with suppliers to improve quality, service, and cost efficiency.
- Managing the upload of new supplier set-ups criteria
- Continually monitoring procurement success criteria to track departmental performance.
- Liaising with the internal departments including Production, NPD, Finance, Technical, Sales and Operations teams to ensure a smooth running of the procurement processes.
- Analysing departmental figures & creating reports for the management team
- Compilation of all Procurement documentation databases.
- Presenting reports, figures, and key information to the Senior Management team
Key requirements for the role.
- Proven experience within a Procurement / Indirect Buying or GNFR role
- Experience with fast paced, Retail / FMCG environment is essential.
- Good working knowledge of commercial & contractual negotiations
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise & influence effectively at all levels.
- Educated to Degree level ideally – CIPS advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with an analytical approach.
- Excellent understanding of all MS Office products including advanced Excel.
