The client is a leading manufacturing business, working with both UK and European clients.    They have an excellent reputation for quality, innovation, and development, they are now seeking an experienced Group Buyer to join their team.  The client is seeking an ambitious and friendly individual who can work well within a team but also use their own initiative.  The client is seeking someone who is numerate and has an analytical nature.
 
Job Description for the Group Buyer: 
 
This role will be working in an expanding department, you will have responsibility for the following:

• Buying a category of products and services for the company
• Optimising stock levels and stock availability in line with agreed targets
• Managing new and existing suppliers’ performance
• Supporting of re-negotiations and cost-saving activities
• Liaising closely with other departments within the business such as customer service, operations and development
• Cross-train within other departments within the Supply Chain i.e. Despatch team

For the Group Buyer position, it would be good to see candidates with:
 

• Similar experience within a previous role in Buying and Supply Chain Coordination
• Ideally Educated to degree level within Business Studies, Economics, or similar
• Strong IT skills – strong Excel skills
• An analytical person who has the ability to plan and prioritise workload and projects to meet deadlines
• Someone who has an excellent customer-facing attitude/experience
• Persuasive and personable individual
• Commercially aware
• Strong time management skills
• Strong communicator at all levels

Hours:  Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
Salary:  £25,000 - £30,000 per annum


This Group Buyer role is commutable from Manchester, Sale, Stretford, Irlam, Warrington, Leigh, and Stockport.
