Category Manager Job in Christchurch

You have a curious mind and enjoy looking for new ways to develop your product market. You can account manage well, but you also enjoy range building and category management. You want to work with major brands/retailers with product consumers love while developing existing relationships to further strengthen a business.

This Category Manager will be responsible for working cross-category with one client, developing ranges, evaluating existing performance and problem solving. Project management skills will be valued in addition to a creative mindset, while always keeping an eye on the bottom line. The Category Manager will be a core part of a collaborative team, and thrive in this new role.

What you’ll be doing as Category Manager

  • Close account management of one of the largest accounts in the business
  • Work alongside a pre-set sales strategy to achieve account-specific budgets
  • Analyse key market trends to evaluate your competitiveness and innovation for your client.
  • Create a customer-specific sales plan and strategy while ensuring costings are pre-checked and spec, packaging and recommended retail prices are correct
  • Understand customer KPIs, and targets and review performance, with knowledge and proposals to reach category standards
  • Track the new product development process with the NPD team and ensure projects are on track
  • Deliver value, gross margin & volume targets for your customers
  • Lead and plan the implementation of the project (resource, relationship, allocation)
  • Gain feedback from clients and adjust accordingly

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience within category management or brand management
  • Experience in account management
  • FMCG product industry experience

Salary & Details:

  • £45 – 55,000 per annum
  • £5,000 car allowance
