Established in 1995 the company have worked closely with trade professionals across the UK offering customer excellence and production innovation. Due to continuous growth, they are now looking to recruit a Purchasing Executive who will play a pivotal role managing and maintaining product stock levels. You will be maintaining relationships with suppliers, assess their performance and regularly resolving any issues where necessary. It will be your primary focus to control costs, analyse accuracy to maximise profitability for the business. The ideal person would be an experienced Purchasing candidate who has an eye for detail, is used to an operational purchasing environment and good knowledge of international importing of products, lead times and logistics. [ The role ]

  • Inventory control overseeing levels, monitor stock levels and implement strategies to present overstock or stockouts
  • Stock communications: identifying and communicating and stock opportunities or threats
  • Purchase order management: raising, communicating and follow through of all purchase orders for stock and non-stock items
  • Transport & shipping: Maximising transport options and tracking all of the global routes
  • Supplier management: Maintain relationships with suppliers, assessing their performance regularly and resolving any issues
  • Cost control and profit margin maximisation: Constantly analyse costs to ensure the highest accuracy whilst identifying opportunities to increase profit margins

Requirements

  • Proven experience in purchasing within an supply chain
  • Strong analytical abilities and financial acumen, with keen attention to detail
  • Proficiency in using purchasing software and tools, as well as advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications
  • Regimented and disciplined in completion of tasks
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Willingness to communication effectively with suppliers from diverse cultural backgrounds, demonstrating openness to engage with individuals from different countries
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams
  • Enthusiastic, hard working with ability to take initiative
  • Customer centric mindset
