Are you looking to grow your career in procurement? Morgan Law is supporting a client in the Charity sector recruit an Assistant Category Manager to join their dynamic team and support the delivery of best-value procurement across key operational categories.
This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced Category Managers to support the procurement cycle end-to-end - from scoping requirements and drafting documentation to evaluating tenders and managing supplier performance. You'll also get the chance to lead on low-risk procurement activities and contribute to strategic initiatives.
What you'll be doing:
- Assist Category Managers across Operations, with additional support across Property, IT, and Marketing as needed
- Help shape procurement documentation and coordinate supplier evaluations
- Monitor contract compliance and supplier performance
- Provide timely guidance on procurement queries and internal policy
- Take ownership of low-risk procurement projects under supervision
Essential experience:
- Experience in indirect procurement and supplier engagement
- Familiarity with procurement processes (PQQ, RFP, RFQ, ITT)
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of MS Office and ERM systems
- 5 GCSEs including Maths and English, plus A-Levels or equivalent
- Full UK driving licence and access to business-insured transport
Desirable experience:
- CIPS membership (or working towards it)
- Experience in a health or social care environment
- Familiarity with project management tools and P2P systems
