We're working with a leading food importer and manufacturer to find a dynamic, detail-driven Buying Assistant to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a role where no two days are the same-you'll be right at the heart of the action, working with international suppliers, managing stock flow, and ensuring quality products reach customers across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

• Help manage the import of goods from Europe to the UK
• Arrange customs clearance with freight agents
• Understand transport terms (Incoterms)
• Use Excel and BC systems for stock control and ordering
• Plan ahead to make sure products are always available
• Purchase stock as needed
• Do daily stock checks
• Process purchase orders using BC system
• Work with European suppliers - build relationships and negotiate where needed

What We're Looking For:

• A strong communicator - both spoken and written
• Confident using computers, especially Excel (XL) and BC systems
• Proactive, reliable, and focused on quality
• Experience working in food manufacturing is a plus
