Purchasing Supervisor - Hybrid Role

Salary: Circa £38,000 + end of year bonus and an excellent benefits package

We're recruiting on behalf of a leading international manufacturer of building construction materials to help them find an experienced Purchasing Supervisor to join their fast paced purchasing team based in Ipswich.

About the Role:

The role is ideal for a candidate with proven experience in managing/leading a team with varying levels of skill who will have the tenacity to embrace the managerial aspects required to succeed. We want to hear from candidates who are keen to participate in the social aspects of the team as well as the wider business, but who isn't afraid to set expectations, and drive performance and high standards. This is a busy role, so the successful candidate will deliver results within a high pressure and fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Primary responsibility for the daily management of specific team members as well as providing structured training and guidance to pro-actively encourage individual and team development, ensuring team succession planning.
  • Lead on supplier lead time reviews and relevant internal updates, fully managing supplier relationships and performance.
  • Confidently present data on monthly spend and KPIs, and non-conformance tracking.
  • Lead on demand planning, working with external sales team and suppliers to provide forecasting.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes.
Location:
  • Ipswich Office (Hybrid: 3 days a week in the office).
Salary: Circa £38,000 + end of year bonus and an excellent benefits package.

Who You Are:
  • Previous experience in a Buyer or Supervisory role including; team coaching, supplier relationship and performance development.
  • CIPS level 4 achieved or prepared to undertake.
  • Strong leadership skills whilst being able to provide a positive, nurturing and encouraging supervisory style, with empathy and good levels of emotional intelligence.
  • Knowledge of ERP.
