Operational Procurement Specialist 
  
This pivotal role focuses on leading procurement planning and supplier relationship management across South Wales. Spend will cover a range of goods and services.

Reporting to the UK Category Manager, you will be responsible for the implementation of those strategic procurement plans across the South Wales region. 

This organisation is linked to public sector reguations so familiarity with Utilities Contracts Regulations 2016 or Public Contract Regulations 2015 would be very useful. 
  
Based in Cardiff on a hybrid working basis with requirement to travel across the region
3-day Hybrid working 2 days from home and up to 25% travelling
  
  
Core objectives:

  • Develop high quality plans and using coordinated category management across the larger group
  • Leverage and maximising cost savings to the business,
  • Deliver best value and performance from the supply chain throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Ensure efficient purchase 2 Pay processes are implemented and followed

  
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership on procurement processes and supplier relationship management within the region.
  • Own the Regional Procurement Plan, ensuring efficient, timely, and coordinated procurement aligned with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with Category Procurement teams to ensure alignment with Group category strategies.
  • Implement work plans to achieve business objectives, cost efficiency targets, and risk management goals.
  • Manage key supplier relationships, monitoring performance and ensuring compliance with contracts.
  • Drive process efficiencies and adherence to the Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) processes.

  
Essential Criteria:

  • Demonstrable experience in delivering procurement projects, including sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
  • Strong commercial and analytical acumen, with a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Professional qualifications such as CIPS or equivalent.

  
Desirable Criteria:

  • Familiarity with Utilities Contracts Regulations 2016 or Public Contract Regulations 2015.
  • Experience managing various contract forms.
