Business Development Manager – Southeast/London area – Hybrid Role
Package:
- Salary: £40k base with 20% bonus (OTE £48k in year one, with annual incremental increases).

About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a talented Sales Professional with experience in the home improvement, painting, decorating, or building materials sector to join a respected and growing business as a Business Development Manager for the Central UK region. The successful candidate should reside in the Southeast/London area.

The Role
The Business Development Manager will focus on:
- Securing new independent stockists within the South East UK region.
- Strengthening relationships with existing stockists to position the brand as their leading premium paint choice.
- Driving incremental sales to professional painters through stockists and company-owned showrooms.
- Representing the brand at exhibitions and events to generate leads and build awareness.
Key Objectives
- Secure new stockists within the independent retail channel.
- Achieve the highest premium brand share in existing and new stockists.
- Drive sales growth among professional painters via retailers and showrooms.
- Represent the brand effectively at exhibitions and industry events.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development:
- Identify and secure new independent retailers to expand the brand’s presence in the region.
- Grow market share by onboarding high-quality stockists.
Account Management:
- Build and nurture strong relationships with current stockists.
- Help retailers achieve sales growth through targeted professional painter outreach.
Sales Performance:
- Meet or exceed sales and profit targets through strategic business development and account management.
- Showcase the brand’s premium offerings at exhibitions and events to attract new customers.
Key Requirements
Experience:
- At least 3 years’ sales experience in the home improvement or building materials sector, particularly working with independent retailers.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets by securing new business and growing existing accounts.
Skills:
- Strong commercial acumen and excellent negotiation skills.
- Confident and persuasive presentation abilities.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
Personal Attributes:
- Goal-driven, self-motivated, and enthusiastic about succeeding in a dynamic environment.
- Professional, adaptable, and committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
- Interest in interior design with the ability to engage customers on topics such as colour, design, and technology.
Additional Requirements:
- Comfortable with a field-based role and willing to travel regularly.
- Proficient in MS Office programs.
- Clean driving license and valid passport.
- Eligible to work in the UK and open to occasional evening or weekend events.
