Our client is a fast growth UK toy company that sells a broad range of products in over 20 international markets. This award winning business is a global expert in product development and toy sourcing, that creates outstanding consumer products through intelligent, caring and safe design. 

Requirement & Responsibilities

The company is looking to appoint a suitably experienced Operations Director, to come into the business at a very exciting time. Core responsibilities will entail:

  • Leading and optimising the company’s operations, supply chain, quality assurance, compliance and vendor management
  • Driving continuous improvement with the company’s international supply chain vendors, to ensure consistent quality and timely delivery of goods
  • Improving the company’s operational systems, processes and procedures
  • Leading negotiations, budgeting, purchasing, and putting efficient workflows in place to maximize the company's productivity and performance
  • Overseeing and mentoring cross-functional teams in the UK and Far East
  • Regularly updating stakeholders on operational performance, risks, and opportunities.

Expertise & Character Fit

  • Proven operations leadership within successful consumer products manufacturing & distribution companies 
  • Excellent knowledge of consumer-packaged goods supply chains and processes, particularly with experience of the Far East
  • Experience of building resilient operating systems
  • Energetic, driven and passionate
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Ability to engage internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong Resilience and Leadership skills
  • Willingness to travel to the Far East quarterly
  • Organised and highly professional
  • Values driven with strong emotional intelligence
  • Ideally a strong passion for driving sustainability initiatives in manufacturing and distribution
  • High levels of energy with a keen desire to develop high performing and engaged teams
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with proven experience in coaching and mentoring.
