Location: Bath
Salary: £23,425 per year
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

About the Organisation
We are a well-established local charity dedicated to providing supported housing services within the community. We are now seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Retail Shop Manager to join our team and contribute to our mission by managing our charity shop in Bath.

The Role
As the Retail Shop Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of the shop, including volunteers, paid staff, premises, and stock. Your goal will be to maximize sales and achieve performance targets while ensuring that the shop operates smoothly and safely. You will also play a key role in promoting our charity's values and messages to the public.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Sales and Profit Maximization: Achieve shop income and profit targets by optimizing sales and controlling costs. Work with the area manager to continually improve the shop's environment and appeal.
Key Holder Responsibilities: Serve as the main key holder for the shop, managing opening and closing duties and responding to emergency call-outs as needed.
Volunteer Management: Actively recruit, train, and manage volunteers to ensure the smooth operation of the store and alignment with charity goals.
Administrative and Financial Compliance: Oversee administrative and financial procedures, including money banking, weekly returns, petty cash management, KPIs, and maintaining volunteer records.
Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation, maintaining a safe environment for staff, volunteers, and customers. Identify and mitigate potential risks.
Skills and Qualifications
Driving License: A valid UK driving license and access to your own vehicle are required.
Management Experience: Proven experience in a management role, ideally within the retail sector.
Customer Focus: A proactive and customer-oriented approach, with the ability to adapt and respond flexibly to varying demands.
Health & Safety Knowledge: Basic understanding of Health & Safety and Fire Regulations, with the ability to recognize and address potential risks.
Retail Expertise: Experience in a retail environment, with a good grasp of retail operations and customer service best practices.
