Pricing & Promotions Analyst

Location: Chelmsford – Head Office Based
Salary: Up to £30,000, DOE
Contract: Full-time, permanent

Pricing & Promotions Analyst – The Role

You will work with the Central Operations team to manage the inventory and stock levels through the effective planning and operation of the replenishment processes, in order to ensure that the right stock is delivered to the right stores in the right quantities at the right time for promotional and seasonal events.

Manage the promotional set up from end to end including promotional claims at the end of every period.

Maintain and implement the societies pricing policy to ensure targeted margin is achieved.

Reporting to the Central Operations Manager, the post-holder will provide support to the Central Operations team to ensure effective operation of the stock processes.

Principal Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but are not exhaustive:

Service Levels    

Regular and ad hoc reporting of availability and service levels.

Stock Inventory    

Support the Central Operations Manager in the compilation of seasonal and promotional orders.

Effectively use the stock system and sales reporting to optimise sales and inventory levels, while minimising wastage and stock loss. Sending orders to local suppliers and supporting with branch charging queries on an ad-hoc basis.

Pricing Policy

Maintain and implement the pricing policy using Retail Express by using competitor prices and the close monitoring   of pricing rules to achieve the targeted margin by department.

Set up and manage the promotions in line with the FRTS promotional package.

Submit promotional claims to CG based on the promotional triggers and deal with any promotional claim disputes.


Communicate effectively with the operations and store teams and suppliers.

Pricing & Promotions Analyst – Skills and Experience


•  Data analysis skills and experience of analysis tools, specifically Excel and Access.
•  Strong teamwork, communication and problem solving skills.
•  Must be able to work in a fast paced and changing environment.


•  Store retail experience.
•  Knowledge of Co-operative Values & Principles.
