Childrenswear Garment Technologist

Leading High Street Fashion Supplier - East London

Full time/Permanent - Office Based

A brilliant opportunity for a Multi-Product Childrenswear Garment Technologist looking to develop their career further within a fast-paced environment. Working within an established fashion leader with international retail accounts.

You will be part of a friendly, fast paced and experienced technical team consisting of Garment Technologists, Graders, Pattern Cutters and Machinists.

Responsibilities:

- Experienced Multi-Product Childrenswear Garment Technologist with a background and excellent understanding of childrenswear compliance.

- Holds own areas of responsibility for customer.

- Preparation of all samples before the fit meeting – press/reference samples, specing initial samples, chasing production samples, uploading the PS chase up list.

- Measure and inspect samples for fit and quality, sewing on buttons, ensure samples are tagged up with date. E.g., sealer, factory PP, PS etc.

- Liaise with factories regarding fit comments and spec requirements.

- Understanding status and test reports and updating the critical path system.

- Chasing and gathering information, chasing correct trims.

- Preparing Tech Packs, working closely with pattern cutters.

- Evaluating design samples for cost and production issues to ensure fit for purpose.

About you:

- A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience with a high street supplier background.

- A degree or equivalent qualification in Fashion with a genuine interest in garment construction.

- A understanding of pattern cutting and garment manufacture.

- Solid experience using Microsoft Office and Excel.

- Good communication skills, using own initiative and be self-driven.

- Organisational skills, accuracy skills and be innovative with a proactive approach to problem solving.
