A great opportunity for a Assistant Designer - Ladies to join one of the leading Fashion Suppliers in the Manchester area. The business has well established retail accounts which it partners with and has done for a number of years.

Description

• Creating and developing original design ideas, concepts, embroideries, fabrications and seasonal themes
• Sourcing of relevant fabrics to meet the design requirements
• Developing original themes for seasonal collections
• Creating specs/tech packs for our factories
• Ensuring critical path is adhered to, and keep on top of all key dates
• Assist the design process with the ability to use Photoshop and Illustrator at an intermediate level
• Liaising with factories and overseas offices
• Creating relationships with buyers
• Inspiration and sourcing trips abroad
• Trend packs /colour inspiration
• Managing returns
• Office tidiness / keeping on top of Production room / fabric sorting
• Post - handing out to relevant teams / hanging new samples up
• DHL on a Friday rota
• Assisting all members of the team
• Monday trend/inspo boards for weekly meeting on a rota

Profile

• Graduate, educated to degree level with a minimum 2.1 degree in Fashion or other related subject or equivalent practical attainment
• A good understanding of illustrator and or photoshop
• Creative and trend driven with a good eye for colour and fabric
• Attentive to detail with the ability to think creatively
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Flexible and able to travel to the Next Head office
• Team player and able to build relationships
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• To be able to deal with all challenges in a calm and positive manner
