You will play a vital role developing, sourcing and managing a commercial range of Casual Woven products. Working with sales to achieve the budget & margins within the agreed wholesale price architecture.

A great opportunity for a Buyer- Wovens to join a leading fashion business in Leeds. The company are going from strength to strength and trade across a number of different channels, retail, ecommerce, outlets, wholesale etc. The business has been around for more than 80 years and are known for their British Heritage. They pride themselves on a stable highly skilled workforce who focuses daily on providing the best across all our product categories and distribution channels.

Description

  • Source commercial ranges of products
  • Achieve target turnover and margins with agreed plans
  • Manage and mentor a small team
  • Meet tight deadlines under pressure
  • Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate best prices for products whilst maintaining quality and standards
  • Actively source new suppliers to build the supplier portfolio to improve lead times
  • Understand the market, follow trends, analyse competitors
  • Broad knowledge of the wholesale environment
  • Balance between creative product selection and commercials

Profile

  • Hands on - Working at all levels in a growing team, with a can do attitude eager to get stuck in to all elements of the role to deliver success.
  • Creative flair - ability to balance creative product design with a commercial eye to follow briefs from customers
  • The ability to cope with the pressure of meeting tight deadlines and being reactive, managing and re-prioritising tasks where required
  • Presentation and Organisational skills
  • Team player - ability to manage working relationships at all levels and be hands on supporting the department to achieve strategies and budgets
  • Numerate - working alongside sales to support margin calculations and supplier costings
  • Negotiation skills - ability to work with suppliers to agree the best price for a product while maintaining quality requirements in line with the brand and customer requirements
  • Sourcing - ability to find new suppliers / bring contacts to the supplier portfolio balancing lead times / price and quality factors
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Strategic thinker - able to look forward, innovate and identify new opportunities
  • Keen follower of the menswear market & trends
  • Working knowledge of Cad packages - illustrator (as advantage)
