As a Senior Assistant Buyer- Apparel you will assist to develop and source a commercial range of products . Working with sales to achieve the budget / margins within the agreed wholesale price architecture.

You will manage your own category / supplier under the guidance and support of your manager

Description

• Assisting in the selection of multiple commercial and profitable ranges per season across multiple brands as well as independently managing the buying process of a small category within this.
• Adhoc create CADs and design sheets for suppliers
• Reviewing samples and handlooms for approval and suggesting changes with the confirmation of the Buyer
• Sample management both within the company and with suppliers
• Assist in preparing for lessons learnt, range reviews and sign off
• Regular comp shopping in order to keep up to date with product and pricing of competitors and ensure the competitive and commercial offering of product ranges.
• Assisting with the production of trend packs, producing them to factory standard with precise detail.
• Maintaining and managing critical paths and raising issues when needed, ensuring all goods and samples are completed on time.
• Researching and reacting fast to new trends and creating trend reports, competitor shops, and mood boards to showcase findings.
• Placing orders of samples, cloth and trim, whilst maintaining a positive relationship with suppliers.

• Creative flair - ability to balance creative product design with a commercial eye to create ranges and follow briefs from customers
• The ability to cope with the pressure of meeting tight deadlines and being reactive, managing and re-prioritising tasks where required
• Presentation and Organisational skills
• Team player - ability to manage working relationships at all levels and be hands on supporting the department to achieve strategies and budgets
• Numerate - working alongside sales to support margin calculations and supplier costings
• Negotiation skills - ability to work with suppliers to agree the best price for a product while maintaining quality requirements in line with the brand and customer requirements
• Keen follower of the menswear market & trends
• Self-motivated
• Team Player

Job Offer

Salary £22k - £26k + close to transport links + Free Parking + Career Progression Opportunities + Mix of Home & Office work +25 days holiday plus 8 + Early Finish on a Friday
