Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced Stock Controller to support a reputable Public Sector client on a temporary 3 month assignment based in Edinburgh.

Hours: 37.5 hrs Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm
Pay: £10.59 per hour
Immediate start - 3 month assignment (potential to be extended)
Location: Edinburgh

Responsibilities
" To control the in-house inventory, calculating stock level, handling variability, analysis and reporting to Line Manager.
" Manage the day to day stock replenishment for all warehouses. Ensuring that stocks are maintained at operational levels at all stores locations.
" Responsibility for placing purchase orders for all stores. Utilising the replenishment reports and using supporting information from local stores personnel and the Procurement management team.
" To track and monitor the purchase orders until goods are delivered as per order requirements.
" To maintain and update a stock item catalogue and a database of all stock items using the Financial Management Information System (FMIS) and Excel. In addition maintain and issue the electronic stock requisition voucher (eSRV)
" To facilitate and record stock transfers between stores to avoid instances of stock outs or to support increases in usage. Ensuring stock transfers where possible are used only in exceptional circumstances to avoid unnecessary double handling and associated transport costs.
" Reconcile delivery discrepancies when notified to allow clean receipts and to prevent invoice queries.
" Ensuring any problems (delay, pricing, quality, volume) is communicated to the APM.

Experience Required
" Possess proven experience within a stock control function of a multi-functional organisation.
" The post holder should be educated to degree level or have equivalent training and experience preferably within an inventory management environment. Candidates should have excellent inventory management awareness, and a full understanding of the mechanics of warehouse and materials practices.
" Excellent IT skills required for Microsoft office packages (excel, word, outlook) and knowledge of finance and e-Procurement systems, obtained by relevant courses at an advanced level and relevant experience.
" Working knowledge of warehouse operations
" Manual handling skills and awareness

" Knowledge in relation to Health and Safety, Fire and COSHH requirements
