A fast-growing online fashion retailer is currently looking for a talented Ladieswear Buyer to join their team located in Leeds. My client is looking for a Ladieswear Buyer to work alongside one other ladieswear buyer, working on multiple growth categories and to identify new opportunities for sales growth. You will work as a small team to develop and deliver a ladieswear range and work alongside other buyers and the Buying Director to develop and embed new processes and wow as the business grows and evolves.
" Build a commercial and inspirational range
" Source, select and negotiate with suppliers to obtain optimum product, prices, and terms of contract
" Produce layout/bibles for the 5 catalogues per season to hand over to the creative team
" Effectively negotiate price and agree supplier contracts
" Complete buying trips as needed within the UK and internationally
" Present selection meetings with the team
" Responsible for monthly collection planning, forecasts, margin, and sales analysis to achieve maximal commercial of range
" Ownership for product strategy such as fabric and colour selection, and allocation of origin of production, key trends, gaps, and opportunities of product development
" Work closely with QC Department to ensure quality control and sustainability program implementation
" Evaluate the sales reports
" Responsible of setting and planning, sourcing, shopping, and store day trips
" Identify new departmental ways of working as the business grows to stay streamlined and productive
" Attend weekly Fit & Buy meetings to ensure products are delivered on time
" Weekly analysis to identify missing products from the booked ranges, reporting back to the Buying Director
" Regular competitor reviews to ensure pricing and range is in line with the market
" Highlighting risks and opportunities
" Support the Buying Assistants to hit deadlines and develop their buying skills
The ideal candidate will have:
" Two to three years buying experience
" Excellent commercial awareness
" The ability to work well under pressure and to tight and often conflicting time frames
" An excellent eye for ladieswear product and trends
" Confidence in decision making and influencing peers
" Excellent negotiation and communication skills
" Intuitive with initiative
" Able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the ladies fashion market
" Highly trend driven
" Travel - as required by the business
