Our client is the leading distributor and wholesaler of pharmaceutical, medical and healthcare products in the UK, offering tailored healthcare solutions for their valued customers.
They are now looking to recruit an experienced Procurement Manager.
Location: National based role working from home and field based with an option to work from the office
Salary: £55,000 + £4,800 car allowance + bonus, healthcare, pension, 25 days leave
As the Procurement Manager you will lead the development, implementation and ongoing management of the procurement strategy at a local or regional level for your portfolio of goods and services in line with group procedures. Working with stakeholders (functional, procurement and supplier), to develop and agree the right go to market strategy and associated tactics for initiatives. Provide thought leadership as well as identify, create and implement initiatives to maximize value and ensure ongoing management of supplier contracts and relationships. Project manage work-streams and initiatives to ensure timely delivery of objectives, ensuring all necessary milestones and processes, including formal stakeholder approvals, are completed.
Your area of responsibility will be vehicle lease agreements (HGV’s, Trailer’s, LCV’s), vehicle repair and maintenance, logistics carrier and haulage, fuel and damage recovery services. You will need experience in two of these areas as a minimum.
Our ideal applicant will have/be;
- Expertise in each aspect of the procurement lifecycle and professional procurement best practises
- Preferred qualification would be one of the following CPM, CPSM or MCIPS certification
- Experience of drafting procurement contracts is desirable
- Embrace challenges and change
- Self starter, equally at ease working independently or as a team
- Results orientated
