Retail Assistant

My client based are looking for an experienced Retail Sales Assistant to join their successful retail centre based in Macclesfield.

They operate 3 large sites in the UK and employ over 100 people in a wide range of roles from production workers, and drivers to sales, and finance staff. They currently sell from 5 retail outlets, the, largest being in Bristol. Their brands currently trade within garden centres around the UK.

Purpose of / Responsibilities of the role

• Ensure the service provided to current customers is to a high standard
• Provide advice and guidance to customers in the correct selection of products or services for projects
• Ensure display areas and office are maintained and presented professionally at all times.
• Deal with customer enquiries (calls and e-mails) and complaints efficiently and professionally.
• Serve customers on the Sales Counter efficiently and professionally.
• Produce quotations in an accurate and timely manner.
• Oversee the day to day running of orders and enquiries received
• Process orders
• Serve customers on the Sales Counter efficiently and professionally.
• Liaise with operations and production to ensure all orders are delivered on schedule
• Maintain the customer relationship management system
• Ensure that their product/service offering is maximised to existing customers and that cross selling is attempted

Person specification

· Experience of working in retail

· Proven track record in a Customer Service environment.

· Counterbalance Fork Truck License again would be advantageous

Job details

· From £21,000 plus bonus

· quarterly bonus up to £3500

· Hours Monday to Friday & 8am-5pm, alternate Saturdays 8am–1pm
