To lead the overall performance of the Fish Sector coordinating activities across all group functions.
Achievement of Fish Sector Pre Tax Profit supporting the wider Group delivery of budgeted PTP.
To lead, coach and enable the Fish sector team in the execution of the strategic plan including:-
o Re-gaining brand leadership for Princes brand fish
o Driving growth in COB (Customer Own Brand) and B2B ambient fish.
This role requires a high standard of general management skills, reflecting the broad scope of the customer and supply base.
Play a key role in developing partnership relationships with key suppliers whilst supporting the delivery of the commercial plan at Princes Tuna Mauritius.
Direct and lead the sector team in the delivery of sector KPI’s compliantly and in accordance with the management controls and policies.
Lead the activities relating to raw material fish sourcing and sustainability.
To co-ordinate key activities with the Princes BV Fish team to align intelligence and strategic direction.
The position reports to the Group Director Fish and the holder must maintain close communication links between both parties in the execution of the sector strategic plan.
The position carries full responsibility for all fish procurement – both tuna raw material and imported finished product purchases as well as profit responsibility to PTP.
Whilst the scope of the role is currently focused on ambient Fish, the expectation is that this will expand to include the leadership of the Chilled & Frozen Seafood team in the near future.
The role also includes the management of the category and marketing team in the delivery of share targets across the brand and customer own brand.
The position will lead the delivery of the sector NPD and Innovation pipeline in conjunction with the sector marketing team and the Innov8 team.
A close and effective working relationship with the Managing Director, PTM and all other Grade 7 Directors within the UK and BV is essential.
Attendance on a half yearly basis of the Group Management Board Meeting (GMBM).
The position will interact at all levels of management, both inside and outside the Company. The position requires the job holder to be able to communicate and work effectively with UK, BV and PTM Offices, covering all key functions especially Sales, Innov8, Technical, Finance, Treasury, Legal, and CSR.
Key external stakeholder include supply partners, customers as appropriate, media and brand agencies.

The role job is accountable for the delivery of budgeted profit for fish in the UK.
Perform as the leader of the Fish sector ensuring at all times that the sector is operating effectively, contributing to the Group position and achieving the targets required of it.
Perform as the leader of the team in all aspects of the Buying and Marketing functions with overarching responsibility for sector performance, its development and group profitability balanced across PTM purchases and supply from third party partners and suppliers.
Play a key leadership role in the positive and long term development of partnership relationships with key suppliers.
Develop common purchasing policies, procedures and frameworks.
Combine strategic and operational elements into the role.
Create and deliver long-range purchasing plans and strategies including risk assessment of suppliers.
Manage supplier performance through effective working relationships.
Identify and achieve cost reductions through the application of best purchasing practice and techniques.
To work with the other Directors to maximise profitability across the Group in accordance with the growth strategies for each entity.
To manage the procurement of tuna raw material under PTM direction to ensure profit and sustainability criteria are delivered.
Provide complete and accurate reports as required.
Professionally resolve problems both internally and externally in a fair and ethical manner while protecting the long-term interests of the Company.
Support fully the efforts of other departments in achieving their objectives and those of the overall sector.
Lead, attend and contribute to meetings that directly relate to the scope of the position.
Understand market conditions and the regular communication thereof to the required stakeholders.
Manage the development of new products in line with market information, specific requests and in compliance with NPD process.
Fully understand the production processes and product formulations with particular attention to product specific requirements.
Develop knowledge of the key personnel at each major supplier, their production processes and internal systems to strive for lowest possible overall cost.
Understand and interpret all of the rules governing the import and export of the relevant goods under the new UK and EU legislative and duty regimes.
Accountable for the planning, organising, training, co-ordination and leadership of the sector team, supported by Commercial Controllers.
Management of team including coaching, training, and development of team members.
Conform to the required Corporate Governance for Fish Procurement Management.
Expedite solution of any problems that arise in relation to projected shortfalls in volume and profit.
Recommend and initiate appropriate actions in areas of responsibility to meet Company and sector targets.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
A track record of achievement operating at a senior level within an FMCG business with the ability to lead across different functional teams.
Integrity needed when representing the business internally and externally.
Strong commercial background and understanding with experience in delivering overall profitability targets.
A team player, the job holder will take a high profile and pro-active role across the Group.
Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to build and develop effective working relationships.
The position requires a high degree of maturity, being conscientious and ethical to ensure control and the proper expenditure of company funds.
