Convenience Store Merchandising Team Leader

Job Title: Convenience Store Merchandising Team Leader.

Pay: £9.50 p/hr. – Flexible working week.

Hours: Typically, Monday - Friday, occasional bank holidays, weekends & nightshifts dependent upon customer requirements.

Location: Field based, nationwide role with the possibility of regular travel & hotel stays each week.

Benefits: When staying away from home we will provide accommodation, breakfast allowance or breakfast provided where available, business mileage is reimbursed from 20 pence per mile.


This is a unique & exciting opportunity to become a Retail & Asset Solutions convenience store merchandising team leader.

You will be working in our convenience customer stores, providing merchandising support with new store openings, refits, conversions and store refreshes.

Working closely with the store development managers, you will be responsible for delivering the merchandising plan to the highest possible standards.

Example of a typical job;

  1. Plan for a timely day 1 arrival
  2. Meet the Retailer and Store Development Manager
  3. Walk the floor, discussing any equipment moves that need to be made, the dates for new stock deliveries and the overall merchandising plan
  4. Check that all required planograms are available for the store
  5. Take a range of before photographs as per provided template
  6. De-stock, dismantle, move, re-erect, re-profile & clean shelving for the new merchandise layout commencement
  7. Face & back fill in line with the new merchandise layout required
  8. Merchandise to planogram or freehand if the range does not fit the space, ensuring a logical and aesthetically pleasing layout is achieved
  9. Incorporating new stock deliveries into the merchandise layout & following instructions for sell through of delisted lines
  10. Take a range of after photographs as per the provided template
  11. Complete a manual or online sign off with the Retailer or Store Development Manager

Experience Required

  1. Convenience/small store experience highly desirable
  2. Understanding of the dynamics of convenience retailing
  3. Ability to understand and interpret planograms
  4. Working knowledge of health & safety best practice and risk assessment
  5. Ability to lead a team and deliver a project to deadline
  6. Structured, methodical problem solver
  7. Current UK driving license essential
  8. Availability to work away from home each week
  9. Commitment to ongoing personal development
