Our client based in Harrogate has a rare an exciting opportunity for an experienced Import Merchandiser to join their team. Candidates must have 1 years' experience in Import Merchandising.
1) Critical Path Management
Updating all Critical Paths based on Company Standard CP documents
Chairing a weekly CP Meeting for your accounts
Ensure everyone is working to the same goal of “on time” delivery
Flag up any critical issues to the Senior Merchandiser or Merchandising Director
2) Raising orders.
Confirming Orders with the customer
Raising Orders with the factory
Enter Orders on the Order log
Set up the CP for each Order.
3) Handover meeting
Chair the meeting at the point of order to run through the garment CAD, SPEC and BOM and CP.
This kicks off the CP and ensures all information is succinct throughout the business. Create a packaging top sheet,
4) Colour management
Working with the Junior Merchandiser(s) to create a Colour Management sheet from the BOM provided by design/QA
Ensure the colour standard is agreed at the point of order and the factory are aware of this.
Chase lab dips and bulk dips directly or through the Junior Merchandiser in line with the Critical Path requirements – ensure they come in on correct quality components.
Ensure they are acceptable in colour to send to the customer for colour approval or approve internally if the colour for that account is internally managed.
Discuss all issues with the Account Manager or Merchandising Director if rejections are required.
Keep files and CP up to date
Flag up any critical issues to management
Create top sheet from Handover meeting – issue to factory - this outlines packaging required either local or nominated – and how to pack method
Chase customer and issue barcode and item code info and issue to factory
Chase packaging layouts from factory in line with Critical Path dates – get customer approval if required
Chase “how to pack” pictures from factory and get customer approval if required.
Check packaging on Gold seals for QA
6) Fibre compositions and Testing
Ensure all testing is completed in line with the customer / range requirements.
Chase the reports from QA and weightings from factory and work out the fibre comp to give to customer.
If the garments are tested, secure the fibre composition from factory in a timely manner.
On receipt of packing lists, check the detail (deal with shortages).
Raise a commercial invoice to customer – enter on log and hand to The Account manager.
Chase (if required) the factory invoice – check it is in line with packing list and prices confirmed and is correct on log – hand to the Account Manager.
7) General admin duties
Tracking and logging and receipt of parcels. Also, when required, the booking of parcels
Ordering stationery and consumables
Arrange meetings, organise travel and entertaining such as customer in house meetings may need catering/ refreshments etc.,
You are responsible for keeping your own area and work space tidy but also the general shared work space.
At times you may be required to help in other departments – if your manager and work load allows it
Flexibility is required in terms of working hours.
This is a full-time permenent role with a successful comapny.
